Who is Getting No Respect? Madison is the Model? 6. Spirituality Could be Tried? I could really use some positive energy right about now. Mike and Jerry have been getting me down and I have no one to blame but myself. In preparing to write this book I copied hundreds of pages from books written by the experts. A thick cover of dust now coats the giant pile. Fifty pages from Carolyn Myss are in the pile, which may mean she is ranked number one in the page count. Ms. Myss addresses positive energy, spiritual development and 48 other topics as I recall. I enjoy her books a great deal. However, I could not bring myself to endlessly quote celebrities while preaching against over reliance on celebrities. People might have laughed at this over reliance, and my self esteem would then take a big hit. Who needs that? I'm going to find my own path, but admit that when the road gets bumpy that my backpack will contain books by Carl, Marie-Louise and even Scottie Peck. It is even possible that I might go to a brick structure labeled a church, but I insist on the right to bring my own backpack as well as my own brain. Mr. Peck pointed out in one of his books that a person need not throw out all of his or her childhood religion when forging an individual spiritual path. I agree. In finding my own spiritual path I have found that location, location, location has been overwhelmingly important. I was a virtual member of the living dead while briefly residing in Des Moines. My current home in Madison is 180 degrees from Dead Moines. Let's head to Madison to see what's shaking. There's always a whole lot of shaking going on in Amerika's Mad Town. P.S. I know that this chapter needs a serious rewrite. However, I have a job so that can't spend all my time posting salvation on the Internet. Who is Getting No Respect? Madison is the Model? |
